Large compass cards often have two needles, in which case the agate cap is fixed in the card. In small cards the agate cap is fixed in the centre of the needle. Draw a pencil line on the under side of the card from N. to S. points. Fix the needle to this with sealing wax or glue, and screw or rivet through the card.
