This section is from the book "Camping Manual For Troop Scouters", by Boy Scouts of America. Also available from Amazon: Camping Manual For Troop Scouters.
1. Let us assume-we are going camping for one week. What kind of program should we develop for our period in camp? This is in two parts:
(a) Program for the day.
(b) Programs of major events for each of the seven days. There are two blank charts or forms. One is for the "day" program or schedule and the other for the "weekly" events. Fill in both blanks as a preparation for going to camp. Get your leaders to assist in doing this, and take plenty of time. It cannot be done in one meeting! Check on suggestions in Handbook for Scoutmasters, pages 722-723 and 836. Make out extra forms for your use in camping experiences.
2. The second chart is for the weekly catalogue of major things to be done. Each day should be filled in on chart "One", in detail, using Chart II as the guide.
