A bench hook can be made from a piece of beech wood 3 by 2 by 9 inches in length. Cut out the hook as shown in dotted lines, in Fig. 16, and round the ends. The saw cut should be vertical and at right angles to the cross piece. When one side of the hook is worn, it can be turned over, and the other side be used.
