A corporation is subject to the criminal laws of the state. There are certain crimes which cannot be committed by a corporation. whether a corporation comes under the terms of a penal statute depends primarily upon the intention of the legislative body which enacted it. A corporation is now universally held to be subject to indictment. The only punishments which can be inflicted upon a corporation are, from its nature, dissolution, fine or forfeiture.
