Inventory (In'-Ven-Tory). An itemized descriptive list of articles, such as goods and chatties; specifically a formal list of moveables, as of the goods or wares of a merchant. Benefit of Inventory is a legal phrase signifying the limit of liability of an executor in respect of debts of the deceased, by making and filing an inventory showing the value of the assests coming into his hands.
