Sarah Fielding, an English authoress, sister of the preceding, born in 1714, died in Bath in 17G8. Her principal works are "The Adventures of David Simple in search of a Faithful Friend" (2 vols. 12mo, London, 1744; a 3d vol. added in 1752);History of the Countess of Delwyn;"History of Ophelia" (2 vols. 12mo, 1785); and "Lives of Cleopatra and Octavia." In 1762 she published a translation of "Xenophon's Memorabilia of Socrates, with the Defence of Socrates before his Judges," in which she was assisted by Mr. Harris.
