Fulminic Acid (Lat, fulmen, lightning), one of the isomeric modifications of cyanic acid, represented by the formula Cy2H202. Its compounds are distinguished for their explosive character, in which they differ from those of cyanic acid. All attempts to obtain it isolated have failed, from its tendency to instantaneous decomposition with explosion.
