Down-ward, wavy lines down the whole finger, with cross bars on the Mount of Saturn - Succession of fatal happenings.
Downward lines - Suicide.

Cross lines - Suicidal insanity.

A black spot - Ague, chronic malaria.

A cross - Superstition often amounting to insanity; frequently it reveals a tendency to crime or suicide.
A star- - A most extraordinary existence, either for good or evil; if repeated in both hands - Danger of assassination; if_on the side of the phalanx - Death in a just cause.

A star with a triangle on the Mount of Saturn - Depravity

Two stars, one on the first, one on the second phalanx of the second finger - Death on the scaffold.

A downward line cutting the upper and middle joints - Stupidity and folly.

Cross lines - Ignorance, obstinacy.

A thick cross line - Death by poison.

Across - A dangerous contingency.

A star - A catastrouhy, probably a crime, generally unavoidable. One of the few signs of fatality recognized by Modern Palmists.

A square - Another indication of an unavoidable fatality.
A triangle- - Special aptitudes for the occult sciences.

A circle - Great success in one's researches into the occult sciences.

A grille - Ill-luck; indication of the class of diseases generally marked on the Mount of Saturn (nerves, legs, ears, etc.).
One or two downward lines from the second to the third phalanx - Wisdom.

One straight, downward line not entering the Mount of Saturn - Milllary success. If oblique - Death in battle.


Many downward lines, if perfect - A fortune in mining; otherwise - Extreme melancholia.
Many cross lines - A wretched life in Solitude, abandoned by one's friends.

Exceptionally and with a smooth first phalanx - Inheritance.

A forked line - An unfortunate nature, hating other people's society and generally disliked.

A cross (in a woman) - Sterility.

A cross and two cross lines - Thieving disposition.

A star - The sign of the murderer (with other indications), or in a good hand - Of the possible victim of a murder.

A triangle - A wicked nature threatened with ill-luck.

A square - Merciless, miserly disposition.
A circle - Great proficiency in the study of natural philosophy.

A grille - The insanity peculiar to misers.
