This form of disease usually attacks children, occurring but once in the same individual. The cough acquires a peculiar shrill and whooping sound, in many cases almost producing suffocation.
The bowels should be kept regular by injections, and the tincture of lobelia used in small quantities, to keep the cough loose. The patient should be kept from the evening air, the feet kept warm and dry, and particular regard paid to the diet.
