Latin, Calumba (Gen., Calumbae)
Eng., Calumba. Synonyms, Calumbo, Columbo, Colombo. The dried root of Jateorhiza palmate
30 grains (2 Gm.).
Eng., Tincture of Calumba. Represents 20 per cent. of the drug.
1 fluidrachm (4 mils).
Bitter tonic.
Principally used as a vehicle for tonic preparations. Administration.-The tincture is used almost exclusively and is usually prescribed with such agents as nux vomica.
