Few flowers are more gorgeously colored or more beautiful than this hardy vigorous-growing bulbous plant. It thrives well in any good soil and a warm sheltered situation. Plant the bulbs about three inches deep and six inches apart, in September or October.
Propagate either by seeds sown in early Spring, covering the seeds about a quarter of an inch deep, or by offsets taken from the old bulbs during the dormant season.
