A genus comprising only two species, both indigenous to Japan. They prefer a rich, moist, well-sheltered situation and abundance of water during the Summer months, when they form elegant specimens of pyramidal habit.
Propagate by seeds sown one-eighth of an inch deep in a cold frame in Spring. When they are four inches high, plant them in nursery rows (giving room as required) where they may remain until wanted.
