Those who saw at the Centennial in Philadelphia, the magnificent fruit continually coming from Oregon, need not be told that that is an excellent fruit growing State. The opening of direct railroad communication with Oregon is doing much to encourage the development of these interests.
There is being organized on the Waldo Hills, near Salem, a company on the co-operative plan, for growing and canning fruits. Members will own and control land independently, and plant the kinds of fruits that each may desire.
