Smilax herbacea.

A handsome vine growing 4 - 15 feet long, found in moist soil. Canada to Gulf States, west to Nebraska.

Flowers

Greenish yellow, in inconspicuous clusters, ill-scented. Berries at first green, finally blue-black.

Leaves

Somewhat heart-shaped, parallel veined.

Carrion-flower.
