Mix the water with commercial glycerine, or use a solution of calcic chloride instead of water in the tank. The most practical way of getting over the difficulty, however, is to insert a steam pipe into the tank of the holder, and during frosty weather to pass steam through the pipe, taking care not to allow the temperature of the water to get too high.
