A shoe may be produced upon this plan by making S the height required,! and connecting this with T, as shown in the dotted line. P is 7/9 of an inch below H. A line passing from P to D gives, where it crosses the line TS, the point x. The curve of the top of the shoe may be completed in the usual way. To find the length of wing of the vamp, take one inch from the half of CD, in the direction of C, and proceed as Fig. 120.
